From the archives 1975:
We thought we’d share these personal family photos with you. On a recent trip to Australia Steve’s mom told me the story about how she thought steve’s obsession started with campervan’s and how she had these old photos of the ‘fruit van’ and so I asked her to send me a copy when she returned back to Scotland as I’d love to include this story on our website as “all dreams start somewhere.”
And so…. this is where it all started for Mr Kombi Celebrations at the age of four with his dad and sister in a converted Ford Transit van.
The van was originally a fruit van and was converted by his talented dad Alan (who just quietly we want to join the crew when he moves over next year, as our fleet maintenance director LOL). The family enjoyed many holidays in their Ford campervan travelling around England and Scotland.
Happy days! and then became Steve’s obsession with all things VW Kombi….. 36 years later and Kombi Celebrations was born.
