Living the dream… a seriously stylish, fun ride it seems the wedding industry can’t get enough of the classic VW Retro Kombi as their choice in wedding transportation. On Saturday 4th January 2014, the award-winning kombi event hire business Kombi Celebrations celebrated the wedding of Becki McDonnell and James Huse in what is arguably Australia’s 1st ever five VW Kombi-wedding convoy from St PATRICKS ESTATE CERRETTI CHAPEL in Manly to Whale Beach, Sydney, NSW.

“It was a fantastic day, lots of love and nostalgia.  The kombi convoy was a surprise for the couple’s guests which certainly created a WOW factor from their arrival at the church in Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches to their journey up Pittwater Road to Whale Beach.  It was certainly a head-turning sight,” says Deborah-Jane Gillard owner of KombiCelebrations.com.au, who followed behind in Herby the beetle with the GoPro. The five split-screen Kombi Celebrations wedding convoy featured the newly restored Lola the 1965 ivory and white kombi, Rhonda the 1966 rag top aqua and white kombi, Little Red the 1962 red and white kombi and Nautilus the 1965 ocean green and white kombi all from the Kombi Celebrations fleet and Kelly the cream and white stretch Kombi limo from Kombi Limousines.
