Back in March this year we were asked if we were interested in featuring our gorgeous 1964 green and cream split-screen Kombi Florence, in an upcoming photo shoot in the July issue of the Donna Hay kids’ magazine. My response.. without any hesitation was “YES” followed by squeals of delight as I processed the contents of the phone call LOL.

We headed down to the gorgeous Balmoral Beach located on Sydney’s Lower North Shore which was the chosen location for the shoot.  As I’ve been in magazines for over 12 years now, I was familiar with the organised chaos and attention to detail that comes with a photo-shoot, but for Steve it was something new and an experience that he absolutely loved.  He now has a new found appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes, to bring these glossy mags to life

Steve worked closely with the stylist and photographers who of course knew exactly where they wanted Florence positioned on the sand. After a few re-positioning requests, during which I could see Steve was a tad anxious incase he got his old girl stuck in the sand LOL, but once she was in position the girls then worked their magic in setting up the gorgeous ‘ice-cream theme’ set, featuring lots of divine props all in gelato colours.

It was a wonderful experience to have our gorgeous Florence featured in such an iconic magazine which I have always loved and it was fair to say that from the moment we arrived with Florence we could see from the crew’s faces, they were as proud as we were in having her ‘on set’ for the day.
