Frankie’s makeover story
How excited are we to finally have Frankie the kombi back on the Kombi Celebrations fleet. Frankie joined the Kombi Celebrations fleet in December 2014 after receiving a major interior and exterior makeover.
Our very dear friend Romy had always dreamed of owning a kombi and when she found Frankie in June this year it was love at first sight, but Frankie needed a little TLC first… Fast forward now 6-months after her exciting and stunning restoration project
Romy decided to give Frankie a vintage biscuit and cream fit-out with walnut floorboards to complement her classic ivory on cream external trim. This has definatley been the perfect choice, creating a beautiful and stylish combination which has already received the WOW! factor amongst our gorgeous brides and grooms.
Six months later and she has returned back to us from the Beauty spa, so we thought we’d share with you all our journey with Frankie the kombi since she came into our world – quite the makeover don’t you think!
We would like to take this opportunity to say a few thank you’s here. Obviously a major restoration project requires a fabulous team behind the scenes, the following crew are without doubt extremely talented in their field and we are very proud to of had them on board team ‘Project Frankie’ and without doubt would highly recommend them:).
The crew who transformed Frankie the Kombi:
Nu Look Finishing Kyogle (Brendan Pratt)
Role: Mechanical, Body Work, painters and panel beater
Works: This was Brendan’s first VW kombi project and what an outstanding job he has done. Brendan was responsible for all the panel beating, Mechanical, Body Work and also carried out her full spray job.

The TrimLab, Newcastle (Steve)
Role: Internal Trimmer
Works: Steve was responsible for transforming Frankie’s inner beauty, by giving her a completely new internal makeover featuring biscuit and tan two-toned colored leather trim, new headliner, re-padding on the seating, door-cards bulk head and carpeting.
